Concept of marketing is developed with the development of human society.
the stage of marketing development may be divided in the following steps
stage of self sufficient and stage of primitive communism, stage of simple barter system and stage of local market stage of monetary economic, town economy ,stage of mass production, stage of affluent society.
stage of affluent society;In this period human wants were limited. they fulfilled their need with the help of hunting,agriculture and cattle farming. they had no exchange of good and services.
Stage of primitive communism;In this stage people gathered at a place to complete the a work.but that wants of people in this time were also very limited.so,they did not feel about the marketing concept.
Stage of simple barter system;After the stage of primitive communism ,simple barter system was introduced with the development of human society and knowledge, wants and desires of people did not remain self sufficient in every sector. It brought the concept of barter.
Stage of local market;After the introduction of barter system it become difficult to search out consumer for exchange. they started to use a particular place to solve the problem of travel to different places to solve the problem of different places. So the concept of local market emerged.
Stage of monetary economy;Barter system had many difficulties in the measurement and transfer of good and services.So to solve the problem of barter system, currency was introduced at first in the form of a metal currencies. Later on paper currency was introduced to solve the problem of metal currencies.
Town economy;After the development pf currency ,town economy was introduced.The development of transportation and communication facilities provided base for industrial development.Advertising system was introduced for promotion of business in new areas and consumer.In this stage , different industrial houses, auxiliaries were introduced.
Stage of mass production;After the stage of town ecomomy peoples need were unlimited So to produce good in mass basis new kind of technology and machinery are introduced. In modern marketing age no nation of the present situation are self satisfied So,it has become to make business relation with other nation. In this way, the concept of international trade is developed. GATT, UNCTAD, ITC etc are the example of this development.
